SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Brock Purdy led the San Francisco 49ers to a hard-fought 30-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, ending on a strong note before their bye week.

The 49ers (4-4) rebounded from last week’s tough Super Bowl rematch loss to Kansas City by delivering a standout performance against the Cowboys (3-4). They aim to build on this momentum for a strong second-half push, just as they did after past bye weeks, which helped propel them to the NFC Championship in 2022 and the Super Bowl last season.

Purdy directed three straight touchdown drives after a 10-6 halftime deficit, pushing the 49ers to a 27-10 lead. But San Francisco had to hold off a late surge, as Dak Prescott connected on two fourth-quarter touchdowns to CeeDee Lamb, trimming the 49ers’ lead to six.
Prescott had a chance to complete the comeback but missed on four straight pass attempts after getting the ball back with just over three minutes left in the game.
San Francisco’s control began in the third quarter, scoring on rookie Isaac Guerendo’s 4-yard run after a 60-yard drive to open the half. A critical interception by Deommodore Lenoir put the 49ers in prime position, leading to Purdy’s 2-yard touchdown pass to George Kittle, who finished with six receptions for 128 yards. The Niners’ offense then delivered again with a 75-yard drive, capped by Purdy’s 2-yard quarterback sneak.
Purdy bounced back from last week’s three-interception outing against Kansas City, completing 18 of 26 passes for 260 yards against the Cowboys.
The Cowboys, returning from their own bye, struggled to find rhythm for most of the game, continuing the inconsistency shown in their last 47-9 home loss to Detroit. Prescott threw two interceptions for the third consecutive game—a feat no Cowboys quarterback has matched in 32 years—leading to more scrutiny on head coach Mike McCarthy as he navigates his final contract year.
Prescott finished with 25 completions on 38 attempts for 243 yards, while Lamb posted an impressive 13 catches for 146 yards in an ultimately frustrating night for Dallas.
